Application Engineer

What the role involves is the following

Application Engineer for Compressor Systems sold to Korean EPC's 

Burckhardt Compression Korea is supplying high pressure gas compressors to EPC's and to the local industry. To strengthen our sales team in Korea we are looking for an Application Engineer. 

The industries we are supplying are Petrochemical, Oil Refinery, Gas Transport & Storage including Marine Boil Off Gas applications, Industrial Gas, Hydrogen Mobility & Energy and Upstream Oil & Gas. 

Position description

• Supports the sales managers during the complete bidding phase in all technical matters.
• Reviews and comments customer specifications, technical bid evaluation forms and technical queries of customers.
• Provides technical support and defends our technical proposal together with the sales manager during technical meetings with customers.
• Independently prepares complete costing and technical proposals for our biddings to EPCs and end-users.
• Ensures cost competitiveness during bidding phase.
• Prepares request for quotation to sub-vendors of the required auxiliary equipment.
• Coordinates internal departments for timely submission of their contributions during bidding phase.
• Maintains benchmarks of compressor and auxiliary equipment cost comparing with competition.
• Ensures a timely hand-over of a sales order to the project execution team by means of an in-depth briefing and documentation of the scope of supply and all technical obligations.

You will succeed with the following

Position Requirements

• Master or Bachelor degree preferably in mechanical engineering or process engineering or similar technical education.
• At least 5-year experience as application engineer, lead engineer, technical project manager with technical responsibility for rotating equipment, preferably packaged reciprocating compressors.
• Experience with specifications and variants of auxiliary equipment like motors, dampeners, coolers, pumps, valves, piping and instrumentation used on the packaged compressor skids.
• Proven experience with Korean EPC's and end-users.
• English Language: Business, fluent, contractual level, spoken and written.
• Strongly target and customer oriented.
• Social character with strong intercultural skills to act within our global organization.
• Responsive, reliable and diligent personality with an open and flexible mind set.
