About the role:

 

We have an exciting opportunity to join the team at our Landvetter workshop as a Workshop Supervisor. This role will be part of our vision to develop and grow the capabilities of our Service Centre and will encompass both managerial and hands on engineering skill sets. Working with the Head of Service Centre and the Workshop Technician you will control the workflow through the Service Centre ensuring work is completed on time, in budget and to the high quality our customers expect from the world leader in Reciprocating compressor technologies.

 

As well as the day to day operation of the workshop you will also identify and support the implementation of improvement projects at the site, ensure Health and Safety remains at the forefront of all we do and help extend our Lost time record of no lost days in 3 years.

 

About you:

 

This role is integral to our vision and goal to be the service provider of choice for compressor technology throughout the Nordic region. This means we need a team player as well as leader with a strong leadership ability, excellent communication skills, a solid engineering knowledge and above all someone with a growth mindset and attitude to support the Head of Service Centres to achieve our goals.

 

Main tasks of the role:

 

  • Plan and manage all work tasks in the workshop, this includes liaising with internal and external customers to ensure they are kept up to date on progress
  • Ensure that quality, health, safety and environmental standards are adhered to by all staff and visitors to the service centre
  • Manage the planned maintenance and repairs of all workshop equipment and ensure records are maintained and accurate
  • Support the workshop Technician with hands on completion of tasks when required to meet deadlines or cover for absences
  • Manage the timely and accurate submission of Technician timesheets for processing against current projects
  • Complete reporting, quoting and spares ordering for projects
  • Ensure all relevant engineering drawings and maintenance procedures are being complied with
  • Support the site manager in ensuring necessary building checks and inspections are completed on time by qualified personnel; this will include, ventilation, cranes, lifts, drainage and fire checks. This list is not exhaustive
  • Support all internal and external audits being carried out by Burckhardt and external auditors
  • Manage Technician holidays to ensure the workshop has cover at all times to meet the demands of our customers, who require continual operation
  • Ensure all measuring equipment is calibrated and serviceable at all times
  • Support the business with increasing the local supply network to ensure best quality, lead times and pricing
  • Liaise with transport companies to dispatch completed tasks to customers and for sending items to sub suppliers as required
  • Plan and support the ongoing development and assessment of the workshop technician to ensure personal and organisational targets are being met

 

Education / Experience

 

  • Time served engineer
  • Experience supervising a small team

 

Language Skills

 

  • Fluent in written and spoken Swedish
  • Highly proficient in written and spoken English
  • Ability to read or speak German and advantage, but not essential

 

Further desirable knowledge:

 

  • Forklift licence advantageous
  • Gantry crane licence advantageous
  • Microsoft 365 proficiency
