Advanced Compressor Technology (ACT) is seeking a highly skilled Machinist  to join our manufacturing team. This role requires advanced technical expertise in machining processes, CNC programming, and precision measurement to produce high-quality components. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical manufacturing, blueprint reading, and the operation of various machine tools. Essential Duties and Responisibilites

  • Ability to read blueprints for product specification such as dimension and tolerance.
  • Experience using manual machines (lathes, mills, drill presses, lapping machines, grinders, and etc.)
  • Basic knowledge of mill and lathe tooling and utilization.
  • Responsible for the inspection of parts for conformance to requirements holding close tolerances and maximum efficiences.
  • Program various CNC machines based on machine language.
  • Must have Vertical Turning Lathe (VTL) and Horizontal Boring Mill (HBM) exerience.
  • Maintain safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Maintains equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements.
  • Completes paperwork to maintain records, fills out inspection reports, and follows department standards.  
  • Must be able to work independently.
  • Perform other duties as required.

 

Qualifications

 

  • Willingness to support ACT’s policy of a drug-free work environment
  • 10+ years' experience as as machinist in a shop environment or equivalent combination of position related education
  • Demonstrated ability to read and understand mechanical drawings required.
  • Demonstrated understanding of basic math skills required.
  • Ability to use a variety of hand tools, machine tools, and precision measuring instruments (i.e. micrometers, veneers, and calipers) as required.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing.
  • Willingness and ability to work effectively in both shop and field environments.
  • Must possess and maintain a current, valid driver's license to operate a motor vehicle in the United States.
