Main responsibilities and tasks:
BC ACTIVATE is an assessment program to optimize performance of compressor system in terms of reliability and sustainability, using measurement and analysis techniques and is based on BC OEM expertise. It supports compressor owner with provision tailored improvement recommendations as well as quantification of benefits delivered by their implementation Ex. energy saving, emission reduction
Report Preparation Process:
- Responsible for preparation of the report from the moment when collected data is uploaded from site until report is released.
- Conduct analysis of data collected on site.
- Request for recommendation and analysis of specific components by relevant subject matter experts / departments.
- Coordination of analysis and gathering input from other departments, making necessary clarifications with surveyors.
- Consolidate recommendations from subject matter in the Report as solution-oriented actions.
- Estimation of energy saving potential and emission reduction potential based on collected DCS data and Recipcalc calculation results. Estimation of monetary equivalent of these savings, payback period for proposed solutions.
- Organization of briefing / debriefings with required stakeholders.
- Revision of report based on results of report discussion.
Analysis:
- Completion of measurement protocols, description of findings in the report related to vibration/thermography/leakage detection.
- Processing of vibration measurement results, interpretation of vibration levels according to BC and ISO 20816-8 standards, basics of spectrum analysis.
- Review of process parameter trends, identification of deviations in operating parameters and presenting findings in the report.
- Specifying task for Sizing Team of operating cases for simulation check and collecting feedback for use in the report.
- Report writing, preparation of necessary text and illustrative materials for the report.
Education, experience and languages:
- Graduate Engineer with 5-7 years' experience in rotating equipment industry.
- Experience in Compressor Engineering, Component / Compressor Application Engineering, Technical Sales or Technical Support team with focus on compressors.
Special Requirements:
- Knowledge of MS Office, Power BI, in particular for creating graphics and data plots for the report.
- Good understanding of compressor thermodynamics, parameters influencing flow, power, discharge temperatures, interstage pressures, rod loads, etc.
- Understanding of RecipCALC printout for identification of abnormal compressor operation identification of uprating potential.
- Good understanding of compressor components function and design.
- Sound understanding of upgrade potential of components, concept of best available technology.
- Basic understanding of root cause analysis techniques and methods. Understanding of failure mode concept, "bad actors".
- Good understanding of quantitative reliability indicators and impact on compressor operation (component lifetime, failure frequency, MTBF, MTTR, availability, use factor, maintenance intensity, etc.)
- Basic understanding of maintenance strategies (reactive, scheduled based, condition based, concept of RCM).
- Ability to coordinate efforts of subject matter experts for completion of the Report as deliverable.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to summarize findings and write reports which could easily be understood
- Fluency in English
