QA/QC Engineer

Main responsibilities and tasks:
Processes & Systems
- Maintain and update global REP guidelines and manage WWSC SharePoint content.
- Support the Customer Complaint process for the SERV division, including task coordination, progress tracking and preparation of 8D reports.
- Support and train local BCx organizations in the Customer Complaint process and related tools.
- Analyze customer complaint and NCR data to develop, monitor and report KPIs, enabling continuous improvement initiatives.
- Track, monitor and analyze NCRs (SERV) across BCx locations, actively supporting sites in NCR reporting, root cause analysis, corrective action definition and timely closure.
Inspection, Testing & Compliance
- Implement customer requirements, classification society rules and statutory regulations in Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs), test instructions and order specifications.
- Prepare application sheets and survey applications for classification society submissions.
- Develop project-specific inspection templates and inspection reports linked to WBS/PSP.
- Review and revise procedures (KV, MBV, VSB) in line with BC requirements.
- Review and approve quality and certification documentation, including EN 10204 certificates (2.1, 2.2, 3.1, 3.2).
BCASC (Authorized Service Centers)
Serve as BCASC focal point (QEOHSD052), enforcing, supporting and verifying compliance with BCASC Guidelines across Burckhardt Authorized Service Centers, including implementation support and structured compliance reviews.
Sales & Project Support
- Provide sales and project support through specification reviews, use of the Specification Wizard and preparation of tender Inspection & Test Plans.
- Support global roles in accordance with STREAM in the preparation, review, and application of SERV Site-ITP's, including validation and integration into final customer documentation.
Training, Audits & Continuous Improvement
- Create, update, and maintain training materials using Easy Generator and deploy them via the HR Training Portal (LMS).
- Support internal audits (ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001) and follow-up on corrective actions.
- Actively contribute to continuous improvement initiatives based on KPI and audit results.
Education, Experience and Languages:
- Technical education in Mechanical Engineering, Machining, or a comparable discipline, with advanced training in Quality Assurance or related fields.
- 3–5+ years of experience in Quality Assurance / Quality Control, preferably in an industrial or service environment.
- Proven experience in customer complaint handling, NCR processes, root cause analysis, corrective actions and 8D methodologies.
- Experience in data analysis, KPI definition, monitoring, and dashboard-based reporting.
- Practical knowledge of Inspection & Test Plans, inspection documentation, customer documentation, and certification review.
- Ability to interpret and implement customer requirements, statutory regulations, and classification society rules.
- Experience in rotating equipment, ideally compressor technology; marine industry experience is an advantage.
- Familiarity with marine class applications (e.g. MD, SDoC) and classification society rules.
- Knowledge of international codes and standards (API, ASME, ASTM, EN) and management systems (ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001).
- Understanding of destructive and non-destructive testing methods.
- Six Sigma Green Belt minimum
- Strong IT skills, especially MS Office; experience with SAP and CRM systems is an advantage.
- Ability to work in a global, cross-functional environment and support sales, projects and service organizations.
