Main responsibilities and tasks:

 

  • Lead and develop the Value Engineering team in GSC, including Value Engineering Project Managers, Senior Value Engineering Project Managers and Process Cost Engineers.
  • Define team objectives, priorities and resource allocation in alignment with the Value Engineering roadmap and business strategy.
  • Build, manage and maintain the global Value Engineering project portfolio, ensuring appropriate project selection, prioritization and execution.
  • Ensure consistent application of Value Engineering methodologies, tools, standards and governance across all projects.
  • Drive Value Engineering initiatives across compressors, systems, commodities and supply chain activities in close cooperation with Engineering, Product Management, Procurement, Manufacturing and Service.
  • Facilitate alignment with senior management regarding Value Engineering targets, opportunities and implementation priorities.
  • Establish and maintain strong stakeholder relationships across Divisions, Functions and Regions.
  • Review and challenge project assumptions, business cases, cost analyses and implementation plans to maximize value creation.
  • Promote a culture of innovation, cost consciousness and continuous improvement throughout the organization.
  • Develop and maintain Value Engineering best practices, standards, templates and digital tools.
  • Support the development and deployment of should-costing capabilities, cost models, cost databases and analytical methodologies.
  • Identify and develop future Value Engineering opportunities through data analytics, benchmarking, product lifecycle reviews and market intelligence.
  • Monitor and report Value Engineering program performance, ensuring realization of approved savings and value improvements.
  • Lead regular portfolio reviews, management reporting and Steering Committee presentations.
  • Coach, mentor and develop team members, supporting career growth, competency development and succession planning.
  • Support recruitment, onboarding and performance evaluations of Value Engineering personnel.
  • Promote the adoption of AI tools, automation and digital solutions to improve Value Engineering effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with suppliers, external partners and consultants to identify and execute value improvement opportunities.
  • Lead strategic Value Engineering programs and special cross-functional initiatives as required.

 

 

Education, Experience and Languages:

  • Graduation / Post-Graduation in Mechanical Engineering or similar.
  • At least 10 years of experience in design, manufacturing, procurement, service, Value Engineering or cost engineering within compressors, rotating equipment or comparable industrial products.
  • Advanced knowledge of Value Engineering, Value Analysis, Should-Costing and Product Cost Management methodologies.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical design, manufacturing processes, commodities, procurement and supply chain management.
  • Proven experience in project portfolio management and complex cross-functional project execution.
  • Strong business and financial acumen with the ability to evaluate investment cases and value creation opportunities.
  • Advanced knowledge of SAP, Power BI, AI tools and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Certification in Value Engineering (SAVE, VAVE or equivalent) and/or Project Management (PMP or equivalent) is preferred.
  • Ability to travel up to 20% of work schedule.
