Position: Procurement Manager

Location: Vadodara

Your contributions to organisation's growth:

Operational Procurement Tasks

• Responsible for procurement of materials with new or existing suppliers.
• Previous experience in SAP as user.
• Support customer order execution during proposal and order processing stages.
• Purchase of various materials from domestic and overseas sources.
• Manage vendor delivery performance.
• Evaluation of supplier performance as per company's rating system.
• Co-ordination with suppliers for on time delivery of materials.
• Co-ordination with internal departments for timely information on technical data, project execution plan and confirmation of availability of materials.
• Inter-company Purchases
• Release of Purchase orders in SAP
• Co-ordination with QA to manage quality related issues with suppliers
• Effective planning of materials as per customers' order execution plan

Vendor development Tasks

• Sourcing: Developing new sources or new parts at existing suppliers wherever required. Negotiation with suppliers as per budget requirements.
• Participation in cost saving initiatives in the company.
• Complete procurement work according to company's policy.
• Get potential suppliers to understand BC standard and norms and lead new suppliers’ «development» until release for operational procurement (Gate 3 and 4 in development process)
• Lead and execute the technical and quality audits at new suppliers / suppliers under development or for re-assessment in cooperation with Technical and Quality department. Define action plan with supplier on gaps and improvements necessary for qualification & improvements.
• Lead, execute and oversee the trial orders (1. Order /prototype) at newly developed suppliers / suppliers under development till handover to Operational Procurement / Purchasing.
• Support Category Manager for projects on:
• Supplier short list
• Align required technical capabilities with AVL (Approved Vendor List)
• Select supplier short list for given project
• Proposal for alternative technical approaches
• Support negotiation on Projects with Division preferred / Authorized suppliers
• Map / optimize supplier list
• Make Fit - Gap analysis in regard to technical capabilities and requirements.
• Propose alternatives and risks plus mitigation actions to cover technical gaps
• Follow up on new methodologies / technical capabilities of suppliers / in Market
• Quality improvement initiatives following an escalation with group preferred suppliers
• Timely resolution of contractual and warranty issues in the most cost effective manner.
• Enhance customer satisfaction through timely services and better technical support and services

Education/ experience / languages:

• Completed education in mechanical engineering or plant construction with 8-10 years of experience in Procurement ,Vendor development , Contract negotiation.
• Knowledge of country-specific regulations (ASME, ASTM etc.) – (desirable)
• Knowledge of norms and standards (ISO9001, etc.)
• Good PC skills for MS Office (Word, Excel, etc.). Experience with SAP is an advantage.
• Previous Customer service experience in Refineries, Petrochemicals/ fertilizers, Industrial Gas segment
• High Energy level, Flexible, Disciplined / Punctual. Ready for extensive travel. Good Physique.
• Service attitude with business acumen.
• Good Communication skill. (written & verbal communication with customer) Presentation & Training experience
• Should possess skills like Microsoft Office usage, ISO documentation etc.
• Positive attitude, Good grasping power, self-motivated & ready to take challenge
