Service Center Technician

Are you a skilled mechanical technician with experience in gas compression, rotating equipment, or oil and gas service operations? We are looking for an experienced Service Center Technician to join our team.

In this hands-on role, you will troubleshoot, repair, maintain, overhaul, and commission gas engine compressor packages and associated equipment. You will work with a knowledgeable technical team while supporting safe, reliable, and efficient equipment operation.

What You'll Do

As a Service Center Technician, you will:

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on gas compressors, engines, production equipment, and associated systems.
• Troubleshoot, diagnose, repair, and overhaul mechanical equipment and compressor packages.
• Perform equipment assembly, disassembly, installation, and major and minor overhauls.
• Support equipment start-up and commissioning activities.
• Interpret compressor performance data and utilize OEM software, firmware, and diagnostic tools.
• Read and interpret P&IDs, blueprints, technical manuals, equipment specifications, and installation instructions.
• Identify equipment and system inefficiencies and recommend corrective actions.
• Apply proper purging, loading, start-up, and shutdown procedures.
• Complete accurate and timely Daily Service Reports and other required documentation.
• Coordinate parts, materials, tools, and resources needed to successfully complete assigned work.
• Provide technical guidance and on-the-job training to new or developing Service Technicians.
• Step into a Lead Service Technician role when needed.
• Follow all company, customer, and site-specific Health, Safety, and Environmental requirements.
• Stop work when unsafe conditions could place employees, customers, equipment, or the environment at risk.

What We're Looking For

Education & Experience

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Vocational/technical school, trade certification, Associate Degree, or relevant military technical training preferred.
• 3 to 5 years of relevant field, mechanical service, gas compression, production equipment, or related experience, or an equivalent combination of technical training and experience.

Technical Skills

We're looking for someone who brings:

• Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on troubleshooting ability.
• Knowledge of gas compressors, engines, production equipment, and related mechanical systems.
• Experience with equipment installation, assembly, commissioning, troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair.
• Understanding of pressure ratings, piping schedules, and safety systems associated with gas compression equipment.
• Ability to troubleshoot equipment failures and determine appropriate corrective actions.
• Ability to read P&IDs, blueprints, technical manuals, and OEM documentation.
• Familiarity with tools and specialized equipment used in compressor maintenance and repair.
• Basic knowledge of electrical systems and troubleshooting.
• Computer skills needed to complete reports and utilize OEM diagnostic and commissioning software.

What You'll Need

• Valid driver's license.
• Ability to successfully complete required HSE and customer-specific safety training.
• Ability to meet applicable respiratory protection medical requirements.
• Ability to work overtime and extended schedules, including 10 to 12-hour workdays, when needed.
• Ability to provide personal small hand tools as directed by Operations Management.
• Ability to meet customer-required physical, medical, safety, and site-access standards.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English and understand safety instructions and technical documentation.

Physical Requirements

This is a hands-on technical position. Candidates must be able to:

• Frequently stand, walk, climb, bend, kneel, stoop, crouch, push, pull, and reach.
• Work overhead and at heights while using appropriate fall protection.
• Frequently lift and/or move up to 60 pounds.
• Occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds using proper lifting techniques and appropriate assistance.
• Work safely in industrial and service environments.
• Wear required personal protective equipment and respiratory protection, including SCBA, air-purifying respirators, and particulate protection when required.
